How to get involved
We are always looking for passionate, community minded members to join our coaching ranks. Prior experience is great, but the majority of our coaches start out as parents or siblings without a basketball background.
The only prerequisites are a willingness to learn, a commitment to creating a great environment for our athletes and a current Working with Children’s Check.

Coach Support
Banyule Hawks are committed to supporting our coaches.
We provide opportunities for professional development through coaching clinics and access to our Coach Development Manager when required.
Our Coaches Handbook is full of practical advice with links to loads of online resources to assist you in your development. Within the handbook you will find:
- Advice on designing and running training sessions
- How to manage gameday, including subbing and timeouts
- Links to coaching clinics and drills
- Links to practice plans
- EDJBA and FIBA rules
